ACR White Paper guidelines (Tessler, et al. J AM Coll Radiol. 2017; 14: 587-595) suggest the following: TIRADS level 3 nodule, size 1.5-2.5 cm. Follow-up thyroid ultrasound at 3 and 5 years after the initial discovery of the nodule.
