                              AAST Pancreatic injury scale 

 

 

 

Grade I                                 

 


— Hematoma with minor contusion/ superficial laceration but without duct injury

 

Grade  II                


— Major contusion/laceration but without duct injury

 

Grade III


— Distal laceration or parenchymal injury with duct injury

 

Grade IV


— Proximal (i.e. to the right of the superior mesenteric vein) laceration or parenchymal injury with an injury to bile duct/ampulla

 

Grade V


— Massive disruption of the pancreatic head

 

Note: Advance one grade for multiple pancreatic injuries up to grade III.
